The
Foundation obtains and professionally manages cash and non-cash gifts
to benefit St. Dunstan’s outreach activities in this community and
beyond. Professionally managed by an independent Board of Directors,
this permanent endowment uses income only to support outreach
activities for our brothers and sisters in need. Monies are dispersed
to worthy causes recommended by the Vestry and parishioners
The St. Dunstan’s Foundation was
established in 2000 as a means of accumulating and growing a long term
asset the income from which could be used for our outreach programs,
independently of the Church’s operating budget. Since its inception,
trust assets have grown to $135,000 thanks to the generosity of
contributing parishioners whose names can be found on the permanent
name plaque which hangs on the west wall of Brock Hall.
The society now has a total of 52
members. Last year, we were able to contribute $5,791 of our
investment returns to 6 different programs.
As they say in the ad world,
becoming a member has never been easier. Current cash or securities
contributions are very helpful as they help us earn distributable
income right away. Giving life insurance policies is another option
as they can be readily converted to cash. Alternatively, making
provision in one’s will for a gift helps assure our long term
viability and growth in the asset base.
If you are not already a member,
we hope you will consider becoming one. There is no minimum gift
size. Whatever you can contribute will be very much appreciated.
