Prayer and Healing
Our rector is our primary source of pastoral care, especially valued in times of transition and loss. Additionally, St. Dunstan’s is fortunate to have several groups devoted to the ministry of compassion.
The Daughters of the King (St. Elizabeth Chapter) pray daily for our parish and its parishioners, with special prayers for the homebound and those who are grieving. Their ministry includes letters and cards of support and comfort, delivery of Easter and Christmas flowers and plants to homebound and ailing parish members, and Christmas gifts for needy families in Monterey County.
The Order of St. Luke welcomes prayer requests for special intentions, especially for persons seeking physical, emotional, or spiritual healing. OSL members are present during Communion on Sundays to pray with and for parishioners.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets weekly to knit beautiful wraps to warm the bodies and souls of the people who receive them. These are blessed and delivered to anyone who would benefit from such a gift and the prayers that accompany it.
